Thank goodness for Substack, where one can find the truth in detail written about Donald Trump et al and their damaging propaganda calculated to destroy the nation we have been. The main stream media speaks in measured terms about the presidential race as though it is proceeding on a somewhat normal course. There is nothing normal about this election. We need more from the press than reporting as usual. It is not bias to speak plainly and emphatically to Trump's inhumane and fascist dreams for the future of this country. It is necessary for the continuance of our Democracy.
I agree that fear is a HUGE motivator. As a neutral observer, I would say the current tactic, on both sides, of attacking the character of the opponent is only deepening the divide. I’ve seen firefighters fight wildfire with fire producing a controlled burn. On the other hand, sometimes the fire needs to be completely extinguished. I think determining the type of fire that is burning and whether or not it can be controlled will be a good indicator of which strategy to use going forward.
One thing that may help to squash the propaganda about Haitians eating pets would be actual interviews and news stories about the migrants living conditions and personal stories about immigrating to America.
There are groups of people being de-humanized so they need to be made human in the eyes of the people.
