Hi Matt, interesting perspective however I'm wary of such an uncritical view of VC. VC firms have been at the forefront of the consolidation of healthcare providers across the country. This has had particularly disastrous consequences for rural areas like the NY-21st as when firms realize they can optimize by leaving low population areas, they do. With, of course, no mind to seniors who might have to travel hours for a GP appointment, the barriers to telehealth without reliable broadband access, and so on. And that's not even getting into VC's consequences for small businesses and franchises.
I agree Harris's plan is bold and something needs to be done to support small businesses. But is VC the appropriate model or comparison here? Seems fraught.
